The Holybro Pixhawk Standard V2A Baseboard is a professional carrier board designed for Pixhawk 5X, Pixhawk 6X, and compatible flight controller modules following the Pixhawk Autopilot Bus Standard.
It provides extensive connectivity for UAV sensors, navigation systems, telemetry radios, DroneCAN peripherals, receivers, servos, ESCs, companion computers, and professional payload systems.
The V2A generation introduces a more compact design, improved connector durability, aluminum CNC construction, and selectable PWM signal voltage for flexible UAV integration.
Pixhawk Autopilot Bus Compatibility
The Standard V2A Baseboard follows the Pixhawk Connector and Autopilot Bus Standard.
Its modular architecture allows compatible flight controller modules to be installed directly onto the baseboard.
Compatible modules include:
Pixhawk 5X
Pixhawk 6X
Pixhawk 6X Pro
Other Compatible Pixhawk Autopilot Bus Modules
The flight controller module can be replaced independently from the baseboard, providing greater flexibility for aircraft development, maintenance, and future system upgrades.
Compact V2A Architecture
The Standard V2A replaces the previous V1 baseboard with a smaller and more compact design.
Its reduced footprint simplifies integration into professional UAV platforms while maintaining extensive peripheral connectivity.
The V2A version measures approximately 92.3 × 40.2 mm.
V2A Header Configuration
The Standard V2A and Standard V2B use the same interfaces and electrical pinout.
The primary difference between the two versions is the orientation of the PWM header section.
The V2A layout is designed to provide flexible installation depending on the aircraft structure and cable routing requirements.
Aluminum CNC Construction
The integrated CNC-machined aluminum housing provides improved mechanical protection and professional system integration.
The aluminum structure offers:
Improved Mechanical Durability
Efficient Heat Dissipation
Corrosion Resistance
Electromagnetic Interference Shielding
Clean Professional Installation
Dual Digital Power Inputs
The Standard V2A Baseboard includes two digital power module inputs:
POWER1 — Primary Power Input
POWER2 — Redundant Backup Power Input
Both interfaces support compatible digital power modules through 6-pin CLIK-Mate connectors.
The redundant architecture allows compatible autopilot systems to use an independent backup power source.
16 PWM Outputs
The baseboard provides a total of 16 PWM outputs for motors, ESCs, servos, actuators, landing gear, payload systems, and additional aircraft functions.
PWM outputs include:
8× I/O PWM Main Outputs
6× FMU PWM Auxiliary Outputs on the Main Header
2× Additional FMU PWM Outputs through the AUX Interface
The servo power rail supports an external voltage from 0–36V.
Selectable 3.3V or 5V PWM Signals
PWM signal voltage is configured at 3.3V by default.
The integrated PWM level-shifting system allows the output signal level to be changed to 5V through the onboard solder selection pads.
This improves compatibility with servos, ESCs, actuators, and professional equipment requiring a 5V control signal.
Three Telemetry Interfaces
The Standard V2A Baseboard provides three telemetry ports with hardware flow control.
These interfaces can be used for:
Telemetry Radios
Long-Range Datalinks
Companion Computers
Remote Identification Modules
Payload Controllers
Custom Serial Devices
Dual GPS Interfaces
Two dedicated GPS connections support primary and secondary GNSS configurations.
The GPS1 interface provides GNSS communication together with compass, safety switch, LED, and buzzer functions.
The GPS2 interface supports an additional GNSS receiver and external compass.
This allows redundant GNSS installations and advanced multi-receiver navigation systems.
Dual CAN Bus Support
Two CAN interfaces support DroneCAN-compatible devices.
Compatible peripherals may include:
DroneCAN GPS Modules
RTK GNSS Systems
Professional Compasses
Digital Power Modules
Airspeed Sensors
Rangefinders
CAN ESCs
Smart Actuators
Ethernet Interface
The integrated Ethernet interface supports high-speed communication with compatible companion computers and onboard systems.
Ethernet connectivity is suitable for advanced autonomous applications, data processing, mission computers, robotics, and professional UAV development.
UART4 & I2C Interface
The combined UART4 and I2C interface supports compatible serial and I2C peripherals.
It can be used with sensors, external electronics, communication modules, payload systems, and custom UAV equipment.
Dedicated I2C Interface
A separate I2C port is available for external sensors and navigation peripherals.
Compatible equipment may include compasses, airspeed sensors, rangefinders, environmental sensors, and custom I2C devices.
External SPI Interface
The external SPI connector provides a high-speed interface for compatible sensors and development hardware.
It includes multiple chip-select lines, data-ready signals, synchronization, and reset connections.
USB Interface
The dedicated USB interface provides communication between the installed flight controller module and a computer.
It can be used for firmware installation, autopilot configuration, parameter adjustment, calibration, diagnostics, and flight-log access.
RC Receiver Compatibility
The baseboard provides multiple receiver interfaces.
Supported receiver connections include:
S.BUS
PPM
DSM / Spektrum
RSSI Input
S.BUS Output
This provides flexible integration with professional and conventional radio-control systems.
Analog & General-Purpose Interfaces
The AD & I/O interface provides analog measurement and general-purpose control functions.
Available signals support compatible analog sensors, custom electronics, payload control, bootloader functions, status signals, and additional UAV development applications.
Dedicated Debug Interfaces
Separate FMU and I/O debug interfaces provide access for professional system development, firmware debugging, diagnostics, and engineering applications.
