PM02D Power Module

The Holybro PM02D Power Module is a digital power supply and battery monitoring solution designed specifically for Pixhawk 5X and Pixhawk 6X flight controllers.

Supporting 2–12S LiPo batteries, the PM02D provides regulated power to the autopilot while digitally transmitting battery voltage and current measurements through an I2C interface.

The module is supplied fully assembled with pre-installed XT60 connectors, silicone power cables, protective heat-shrink tubing, and a dedicated 6-pin connection cable.

Digital I2C Power Monitoring

Unlike analog power modules, the PM02D transmits voltage and current measurements through an I2C digital interface.

Digital communication provides reliable battery monitoring and is specifically designed for compatible Pixhawk 5X and Pixhawk 6X autopilot systems.

Regulated Flight Controller Power

The integrated switching regulator provides a stable 5.2V output with a maximum current of 3A.

This output is designed to power the flight controller and compatible low-power peripherals connected through the autopilot.

The PM02D is not designed to power high-current servos. Servos and other high-current equipment should use a dedicated BEC, ESC BEC, or separate regulated power supply.

2–12S LiPo Compatibility

The PM02D supports battery systems from 2S to 12S LiPo.

This wide operating range makes it suitable for professional multirotors, fixed-wing aircraft, VTOL platforms, autonomous UAVs, and other high-voltage aircraft systems.

Integrated Voltage & Current Measurement

The PM02D continuously measures battery voltage and propulsion-system current.

The digital measurement data is transmitted directly to the compatible flight controller through a single 6-pin cable.

This allows the autopilot software to monitor:

High-Current Measurement Capability

The PM02D includes an integrated current sensor capable of measuring currents up to 327A.

The power module circuit board is rated for 60A continuous current and up to 100A burst current for less than 60 seconds.

Actual usable current depends on the installed connectors, cable size, cooling, airflow, and operating conditions.

Pre-Installed XT60 Connectors

The PM02D is supplied with pre-installed XT60 connectors and 14AWG silicone power cables.

The supplied XT60 connectors and cables are rated for approximately 30A continuous current and up to 60A burst current for less than one minute.

For higher-current UAV applications, appropriately rated connectors and larger power cables must be installed.

Compact & Lightweight Design

With a weight of approximately 20 g, the PM02D is easy to integrate into professional UAV platforms while minimizing additional aircraft weight.

Protective heat-shrink tubing helps protect the electronic components during installation and operation.

Pixhawk 5X & 6X Compatibility

The PM02D is designed specifically for flight controllers using a digital I2C power module interface.

It is compatible with Pixhawk 5X and Pixhawk 6X series autopilots.

It is not compatible with flight controllers requiring an analog power module, including Pixhawk 6C, Pixhawk 6C Mini, Pixhawk 4, Pixhawk 4 Mini, Pix32 v5, and Durandal.

PX4 & ArduPilot Support

The PM02D HV version is supported by PX4.

ArduPilot support is available from version 4.4 or later.

When using the PM02D HV version, the SENS_EN_INA228 parameter must be enabled in the flight controller configuration.

Important Current Rating Note

The PM02D circuit board supports up to 60A continuous current and 100A burst current.

However, the pre-installed XT60 connectors and 14AWG cables have lower current ratings.

For high-current propulsion systems, replace the connectors and power cables with components appropriately rated for the required current.
